Synergy Group
Synergy was founded in London in 1963 as an owner and operator of general cargo vessels and bulk carriers. The group relocated most of its operation from London to Nicosia, Cyprus, in 2000.
After many years of successful investments in these sectors, Synergy initiated a joint venture with a major American institutional investor to invest in container vessels in 2000. The partnership achieved impressive returns through the acquisition, charter and subsequent sale of seven second-hand containerships.
In 2006, Synergy established a new venture to invest in containerships. An investor group was formed and sixteen container vessels ranging from 2,500 to 7,000 TEU were acquired. Synergy currently manages this fleet of ships that are chartered for average periods of five years to major liner companies.
