
George Economou

George Economou is our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Economou has been actively involved in the shipping industry for over 25 years. After graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1976 with a B.A. and an M.S. in "Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering" and an M.S. in "Shipping and Shipbuilding Management," George Economou commenced working as a Superintendent Engineer in Thenamaris Ship Management in Greece. From 1978 until 1981 he worked as Sale and Purchase Manager at Brokerage and Management in New York. From 1981 to 1986 he held the position of General Manager of Oceania Maritime Agency in New York. In 1986 he invested and participated in the formation of numerous individual shipping companies which involved, among others, the present group of companies. Mr. Economou is also on the board of directors of AllShips Limited, a company with securities registered under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

Christopher J. Georgakis

Christopher J. Georgakis was appointed President & Chief Executive Officer of the Company on 1st November 2004. Mr. Georgakis has two decades of shipping experience, with a concentration on dry bulk shipping and joined Excel Maritime following 6 years with privately owned Sea Challenger Maritime Ltd, a subsidiary of Belmont Shipping Ltd. Mr. Georgakis holds a BSc in Business Administration, magna cum laude, from United States International University.

Stamatis Molaris

Stamatis Molaris is our Chief Executive Officer and President. Prior to this, Mr. Molaris served as Chief Financial Officer and a director of Stelmar Shipping Ltd. from August 1993 until January 2005. Prior to that, Mr. Molaris served as an audit manager for Arthur Andersen. Mr. Molaris obtained an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Economics from Richmond College in London and a post-graduate degree in Finance from Strathclyde University of Glasgow.

Joseph E. Royce
President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Royce has been president, chairman and director since the inception of TBS International, and chief executive officer since March 2005. Since 1993, Mr. Royce has served as president of TBS Shipping Services and is responsible for supervising the vessels in TBS's breakbulk, bulk and liner operations. TBS is an ocean transportation services company that offers worldwide shipping solutions through liner, parcel, bulk and vessel chartering services. TBS has developed franchises around key trade routes between Latin America and China, Japan and South Korea, as well as select ports in North America, Africa and the Caribbean. The model captured the attention and support of the investment community and TBS International concluded its initial public offering in June 2005. Since 1978, Mr. Royce has organized and managed ventures engaged in ownership and operation of vessels. Between 1984 and early 1993, Mr. Royce was president of COTCO, a dry cargo pool of over 45 vessels. From 1973 to 1983, he was active as a shipbroker and independent ship operations manager involved in the shipment of various products worldwide. Mr. Royce earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Iona College.
