BASILE J. NEIADAS
Chief Executive Officer, OPAP SA
Basile Neiadas was born in Athens in 1955. He graduated from the Athens College High School in 1974 and continued his studies at the Athens University of Economics (Bachelor) and at Boston University (Master in Business Administration - Honors).
After his military service in the navy, he worked for 20 years in the Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics industry, first as General Manager of the family owned company "B.Neiadas and Sons SA", then as Chief Executive Officer for "R & N Pharmaceuticals SA" and finally as Development Consultant for "REMEK SA". He specialized on issues such as Productivity, Negotiations, Development Strategies, Financial Analysis, Exports etc.
In September 2001, he accepted the proposal of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games ATHENS 2004 and became General Manager of the Games Services.
Before and during the Games as Member of the Main Operations Team, he was responsible for the successful implementation of all operational plans related to accommodation (hotels, cruise ships, residential accommodation etc).
He is fluent in English and French and was a Track and Field athlete and Basketball player,
He is married to Margarita Vamvakari and has two children.
