A journalist and broadcaster working online since the mid-1990s, Paul Maidment joined Forbes in January 2001 in a dual position as editor of Forbes.com and executive editor of Forbes magazine.
During his editorship, Forbes.com has become the No. 1 business news Web site and has won several awards, including min's Best of The Web award for Editorial Excellence in 2003 and 2004. Since he redesigned the site and reorganized the editorial operation, traffic has increased several-fold. More than 1,500 articles are published each business day on Forbes.com, and the site reaches the largest audience of C-level executives on the Web. Forbes.com is globally recognized for its breaking news and incisive business and investment analysis.
Maidment has launched a stream of groundbreaking features and services, including Attachι, a uniquely customizable personalization tool, Forbes.com Business News Alerts, the Forbes.com Video Network, the members-only Forbes.com CEO Network, customized home pages for Europe and Asia, and Infoimaging @ Forbes.com, covering the convergence of information technology and imaging science.
Previously, Mr. Maidment was the founding editor of FT.com, the Financial Times' award-winning Web site. He held senior editorial positions at Newsweek, and at The Economist, and started his career with the Asian edition of The Wall Street Journal and in radio and television with the BBC in Hong Kong. He is the author of several online and print publications, and he has written a weekly series of radio columns on U.S. public radio. As well as honors for the FT.com, his journalistic awards include a Chafin prize for Newsweek cover stories. Revolution magazine listed him as one of 100 most influential people in UK new media.
Maidment holds Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from St. Catherine's College, Oxford. He is married to author Lisa Martineau. They have two sons and live in New York.
