ULYSSES KYRIACOPOULOS
Ulysses Kyriacopoulos is the President of the Federation of Greek Industries. He convinced both parties that have been in government in the last five years to focus on competitiveness.
Mr. Kyriacopoulos strengthened the Federation's presence in Brussels and serves as vice president of UNICE since 2003. He is an advocate of strict discipline in public spending and adherence to the stability pact as a prerequisite for growth. He stands for a strong voice of business in a united Europe.
During the Athens Olympic games he was the patron of the Athens 2004 Business Club that enhanced networking possibilities for business people during the games.
Ulysses A. Kyriacopoulos is one of the founders of ALBA, now considered one of the best B-Schools in the region. Furthermore, he started a pilot program bringing business education to 150 Greek High Schools (in association with Junior Achievement International)
Ulysses Kyriacopoulos is also the Chairman of S & B Industrial Minerals SA. Under his leadership S & B Industrial Minerals SA earned the Best National Corporate Governance Award by Capital Link and the Athens Exchange. He also serves on several boards including the Bank of Greece, Motodynamics S.A., Ergotrak S.A., Delta Holding SA, Air Liquide Hellas SA. and Boutaris Holding SA.
He has received several awards among which the Kouros Award of Entrepreneurship and Social Responsibility by the President of the Republic of Greece, the Grand Commander of the Order of Merit by the President of the Republic of Portugal. He was included in the 1997 Europe's 500 Honorary Listing by the European Association for Dynamic Entrepreneurs.
He studied Mining Engineering at the MontauUniversitaet of Leoben in Austria and the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in England. He received his MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
He is married to Nicole and has three children: Paris, Katerina and Alexia.
