Mr. Vassiliadis is a Professional Engineer and has been General Manager of PPC Transmission Business Unit since October 2000.

Prior to this assignment he was, since July 1997, Managing Director and CEO of Electric Railways Athens Piraeus SA, which is the Owner and Operator of Athens Subway Line 1. In August 1996 Mr. Vassiliadis became the first Director of Operations of Attiko Metro SA and from this position he initiated the setting up of operation of the new Athens Subway Lines 2 and 3.

He has spent a major part of his professional career in the design and construction of Lines 2 and 3 of the Athens Subway, having worked both for the initial design team of the Owner (1985-1991) and later (1992-1994) for the Contractors (Olympic Metro Consortium). Between 1976 and 1985 he worked as an Engineer for Electric Railways Athens Piraeus SA.
