Issaias was appointed General Manager of the Hellenic Center for Investment
(ELKE) in September 1999. ELKE was established in 1996, as a public interest
private corporation, with the mandate to attract, promote and support direct
investment in Greece and international business alliances with greek companies.
Prior
to joining ELKE, Mr. Issaias held positions as Chief Financial Officer for
an 11 year period, in three major industrial, construction and commercial
companies. Before that he worked for 12 years with Citibank in Greece and
abroad in leading senior credit and investment positions, including vice-president-financial
controller (1986 - 88). He is a graduate of Athens college and has a BCS in
economics from the London school of economics and a masters of business administration
in finance from Columbia university, New York.
