David J. Schulte, CFA, CPA, JD
Tortoise Capital Advisors
David Schulte has been a Managing Director of Tortoise Capital Advisors since 2002, and serves as CEO for each of its four publicly-traded, closed-end funds. Tortoise is recognized nationally as a pioneer in capital markets for closed-end investment companies and an investment leader in energy infrastructure Master Limited Partnerships. As of March 31, 2009, Tortoise had approximately $1.7 billion of assets under management, and has invested $1.3 billion directly with issuers and sponsors.
Mr. Schulte co-authored Understanding and Evaluating Prospectuses, Offering Documents and Proxy Statements (FPA Press, 2006). He has also authored articles on topics that include investing opportunities in the North American energy infrastructure sector and securities disclosure regulations. Mr. Schulte holds a B.S.. in Business Administration from Drake University and a J.D. from the University of Iowa. He is a CPA and also earned his CFA designation in 1992. He has served as an Adjunct faculty member in the Bloch School of Business at UMKC.
