Mario J. Gabelli is Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer-Value Portfolios of GAMCO Investors, Inc., a New York Stock Exchange-listed provider of investment advice to alternative investment vehicles, mutual funds, institutional and high-net-worth investors.
Mr. Gabelli, who founded the firm as an institutional broker-dealer in 1977, has led its growth into a well-known diversified asset manager and financial services corporation.
Mr. Gabelli pioneered a unique style of value investing by utilizing a research-driven approach based on the principles of Graham & Dodd. GAMCO products primarily invest in undervalued companies that have a high probability of achieving their intrinsic or private value over time. While known for this value-based approach, GAMCO has developed a well diversified product mix to serve the varied financial objectives of its clients.
Mr. Gabelli has been a frequent commentator on CNBC and CNN. Mr. Gabelli is a summa cum laude graduate of Fordham University and holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Business, and an Honorary Doctorate Degree from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island.
