Anne F. Ackerley
Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer, BlackRock's Private Client Group
Anne F. Ackerley, Managing Director, is Chief Operating Officer of BlackRock's Private Client Group and a member of the Management Committee. The Private Client Group is responsible for distribution, marketing and product management for BlackRock's open-end funds, closed-end funds and managed accounts. She also serves as a Vice President for BlackRock's open and closed-end mutual funds.
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2000, Ms. Ackerley spent 15 years at Merrill Lynch. Most recently, she was the chief operating officer for the mergers and acquisitions department, managing the day-to-day operations of the department with 130 professionals and over $1 billion in revenue. In 1992, Ms. Ackerley became the head of Merrill Lynch's closed-end fund business with third party asset management firms. She began her career in the investment-banking group as a relationship manager to financial institutions. Ms. Ackerley served on the board of Governors of the Investment Company Institute (ICI) from 2002 to 2005. She serves on the Harvard-Radcliffe Alumni Schools Committee and is currently a co-chair of the Fieldston Middle School Parent/Teacher Association.
Ms. Ackerley earned a BA degree, magna cum laude, in economics from Harvard College in 1984, and an MBA degree from Harvard Business School in 1988.
