The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) is the world's first options risk management marketplace. CBOE options are SEC-regulated and cleared by the triple-A-rated Options Clearing Corporation. The underlying notional value of trading on the CBOE is more than $50 billion per day, making it one of the largest securities exchanges in the world. The CBOE offers options on more than 1,200 individual stocks and options on 50 ETFs and 40 stock indexes, including the S&P 500 (SPX), Dow 30 (DJX), Russell 2000 (RUT), and NASDAQ-100 (NDX) and CBOE Volatility Index (VIX). Futures now are offered on the new CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE). Since the 2002 introduction of the first major benchmark for options performance, the CBOE S&P 500 BuyWrite Index (BXM), investment firms have raised more than $20 billion for new funds that engage in buy-write strategies.
