Mr. Hyland
helps oversee both the day-to-day trading and investments of USOF as
well as working on longer term investment issues and strategies. With
20 years in the investment industry, Mr. Hyland has a long background
in both portfolio management and investment research. His background
includes experience with equities, fixed income, and structured investment
products. In addition he has done extensive work in the area of developing
new investment strategies and vehicles for both US and non-US clienteles.
He is con-currently
a principal at Towerhouse Capital Management, LLC, a firm that provides
portfolio management and new fund development expertise to non-U.S. institutional
investors. Prior to founding Towerhouse in 2003, Mr. Hyland was
the director of global property securities for a hedge fund focused
on global real estate stocks. From 1996 through 2001, Mr. Hyland
was the Director of Securities Research and Portfolio Manager for the
capital markets division of CB Richard Ellis, a global commercial real
estate services firm, which focused on REITs, Commercial Mortgage Backed
Securities (CMBS), and Collateralized Debt Obligations (CDO).
Mr. Hyland
received his Chartered Financial Analyst (“CFA”) designation
in 1994. From 1993 until 2003, Mr. Hyland was on the Board of Directors
of the Security Analysts of San Francisco (SASF), a not-for-profit
organization of investment management professionals. He served as the
president of the SASF from 2001-2002. Mr. Hyland is a member of
the CFA Institute (formerly AIMR). He is also a member of the National
Association of Petroleum Investment Analysts (NAPIA), a not-for-profit
organization of investment professionals focused on the oil industry.
Mr. Hyland is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley.
