Colm
has been investing in emerging debt markets since 1996 experiencing
the accelerated development of the asset class over the period. He has
successfully invested across the entire emerging debt universe including
government, corporate, distressed, domestic and external debt securities.
At Aberdeen Colm is Head of Global Emerging Market Debt and runs the
EM Debt team who manage several mandates, mostly on a total return basis.
He
is responsible for the development and implementation of Aberdeen ’s
EM Debt investment process,and is also a member of the company ’s
Fixed Income Strategy and Derivative Committee Groups.Colm began his
emerging debt career at Bank of America where in addition to trading
external sovereign and corporate debt,he developed the fledgling non-US$denominated
emerging debt business for the bank in Europe.
He
subsequently joined Hydra Capital management,a boutique global emerging
debt fund, where he specialised in both sovereign and corporate distressed
situations. Born in Ireland,he is a graduate of University College Dublin
and holds an honours degree in Business and Law.
