Hugh
T. Hurley is a Managing Director of Investment & Product Marketing
for the Americas region of Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM),
the asset management division of Merrill Lynch. In this role, Hugh is
responsible for all product support functions for MLIM’s U.S.-manufactured
products, including product management and development, product specialists,
product positioning and sales support.
Hugh has nineteen years of financial services experience, having held
various positions on both the buy- and sell-side of the business. Most
recently, Hugh was Head of the Product Management and Portfolio Strategy
Group for MLIM Americas. He worked closely with MLIM’s portfolio
management teams and Proprietary, Non-Proprietary and Institutional
sales channels to consistently represent MLIM’s suite of products
to Financial Advisors, clients and outside organizations. Hugh also
managed and coordinated investment, legal and business issues relating
to existing and new product offerings.
Prior to that, Hugh was a Fixed Income Product Manager for MLIM’s
tax-exempt class. He joined Merrill Lynch in May 1993 as a Vice President
and Portfolio Manager in MLIM’s municipal bond department, where
his responsibilities included the performance of $2.5 billion of assets
in closed-end leveraged and open-end mutual funds. Under his management,
MLIM’s MuniEnhanced product was selected Fixed Income Product
of the year for 1999 by Smith Barney.
Hugh graduated from Providence College in 1986 with a bachelor’s
degree in business finance. He is Series 7 licensed. Hugh is an active
member of the community, serving on the Executive Board of St Charles
Church, the Montgomery Township (NJ) Educational Foundation, and the
Budget and Finance Committee for Montgomery Township.
