MARTIN
COHEN is co-founder and president of Cohen & Steers. He is a senior
portfolio manager for all of Cohen & Steers' clients and co-heads the
firm's investment committee. Prior to founding the firm in 1986, Mr. Cohen
was a senior vice president and portfolio manager at National Securities
and Research Corporation from 1984 to 1986, where, in 1985, he and Mr. Steers
organized and managed the nation's first real estate securities mutual fund.
From
1976 to 1981, Mr. Cohen was a vice president at Citibank, serving as an
analyst and portfolio manager. In 1980, he organized and managed the Citibank
Real Estate Stock Fund.
Mr.
Cohen has a BS degree from the City College of New York and an MBA degree
from New York University. He has served as a member of the Board of Governors
of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts and as president
of the Real Estate Analysts Group, part of the New York Society of Securities
Analysts. In 2001, he was the recipient of the National Association of Real
Estate Investment Trusts Industry Achievement Award.
