Mr. Stalev was born in December 5th 1952 in Sofia Bulgaria. After he graduated from the German Gymnasium "Nicola Gulubov" we continued his education at the "St. Clement Ochridski" in Sofia Bulgaria, which led him in acquiring a Masters in Law and later on a PhD in Law.
Starting his professional career in 1981, Mr. Stalev was appointed a senior scientific collaborator in the Institute of Law Science in Sofia Bulgaria, a position which he maintained for ten years. For two years, from 1990 till 1991, he was the Law Advisor of Zelio Zelev, the President of the Republic of Bulgaria at the time. At 1991, Mr. Stalev was appointed Ambassador of Bulgaria to Germany, a position that he retained till 1998. In the year 1997, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Interim Government in Sofia, Bulgaria. Continuing his diplomatic career, Mr. Stalev was appointed Ambassador of Bulgaria in Turkey in 1998 till 2006.
From that moment on and till the present day, Mr. Stalev is the Executive Director of the InvestBulgaria Agency (BAI) in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Mr. Stalev is awarded with a Federal Cross Medal and is a member of the board of the Diplomatic Institute (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
Mr. Stalev speaks Bulgarian and is also fluent in English, German, French, Spanish and Russian.
