Herb Blank is responsible for the acceptance and completion of all projects. He focuses on strategic planning issues, including product development and positioning. Prior to assuming his current position, he was a director at Deutsche Morgan Grenfell and chief investment officer of the CountryBaskets Index Fund. Herb directed research and development activities, and was chairman of its research round table. He is a frequent contributor to industry publications and has authored a chapter for Professional Perspectives on Indexing. Favorite speaking topics at conferences include: exchange-traded funds; global indexes; and asset allocation.

Herb created and managed structured and quantitatively tilted portfolios for a midtown-based asset management and research institution. He developed models, consulted with institutional clients, and wrote articles for its publications. During the 1980's, he worked with Dr. Stephen Ross to create the first APT-based asset management product. He is New York City Chair of QWAFAFEW, a society of quantitatively oriented investment professionals. He has an MBA in Finance from New York University and a BA in Mathematics from University of Pennsylvania.
